A study conducted by BrokerChooser has identified Bretagne as the top region for retirement living in France, achieving a score of 73.9 out of 100. It is followed by Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur with 67.1 and Nouvelle-Aquitaine at 64.9. The evaluation considered six equally weighted factors, including the percentage of retirees, the demographic ageing index, median room prices, the number of communes rated "3 fleurs" or higher, life expectancy post-60, and health professionals per 100,000 residents. According to INSEE data (2017-2025), Bretagne's median room price stands at €34,000, in contrast to Île-de-France's €67,000 and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur's €72,000. Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur has 412 health professionals per 100,000, while Île-de-France is ranked 12th at 46.7, and Hauts-de-France is last at 41.5. The Grand Est region offers the lowest median price at €28,000 per room.
