Broken Eiffel Tower Crashes into Nevada Desert for Burning Man 2026
At Burning Man 2026, held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, French artist Philippe Maindron unveiled a striking steel sculpture named 'Eiffela Broken Dream.' This piece, a reinterpretation of the Eiffel Tower at a 1:10 scale, is dramatically split in two, reflecting themes of resilience, collapse, and displacement. Measuring around 30 meters in length and 15 meters in height, it comprises 29 tonnes of steel. The lower portion, with its four legs anchored to the ground, represents a lost civilization's descent, while the upper section ascends diagonally, symbolizing hope. A cable allows a tightrope walker to traverse between the halves. Created in Vendée, France, the sculpture was disassembled, shipped across the Atlantic, and reassembled on-site in just 72 hours. Maindron Production produced the project, with images provided by the artist and photographer Jean Marie Poirier.
