Brick Tower Mixed-Use Building by ASA Studio in Kigali
ASA Studio has completed a mixed-use brick tower in Kigali, Rwanda, rising above corrugated-iron roofs in an upgrading neighborhood. The 835 m² building, designed by lead architects Francesco Stassi, Zeno Riondato, Rocco Cislaghi, and Alice Tasca, uses locally sourced clay bricks and natural ventilation, eliminating the need for air conditioning or high-tech systems. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro, includes housing and office spaces, with a technical team of Riondato and Tasca, and a design team of Stassi and Fabrice Uwiduhaye. The general contractor was Max Construction Solutions Ltd, with MEP engineering by O&M Engineering. The building is set for completion in 2026.
