Brice Marden: I Am Plane Image at Gagosian
Gagosian is showcasing "Brice Marden: I Am Plane Image," marking the first extensive survey of the artist's creations in New York in two decades. This exhibition will be held from September 15 to December 12, 2026, at 522 West 21st Street in Chelsea. Curated in collaboration with the Estate of Brice Marden, it covers six decades and features significant loans alongside rarely seen works from private collections. The title reflects Marden's exploration of the connection between image and painting. Notable pieces include "Nebraska" (1966), "Pumpkin Plumb" (1970/1973), and "Cold Mountain 6 (Bridge)" (1989–91). This event coincides with the release of "Brice Marden: Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings, 1961–2023." Marden passed away in 2023, with his last major retrospective occurring at The Museum of Modern Art in 2006.
