BREEZZE Market by Displacement Architects Revitalizes Ningbo Community
Displacement Architects has completed the BREEZZE Market in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, a 1,700 m² project that reimagines commercial podium spaces struggling under shifting consumption patterns and e-commerce. Located in the Jiaochuan subdistrict of Zhenhai district, the market targets a demographic dominated by elderly and relocated residents, whose primary needs are daily shopping and leisure. The design introduces a fresh produce market and small-scale public spaces—pocket parks—using lifestyle-driven strategies to inject new vitality into the area. The project was led by architect William Xu, with a design team including William and Scott, landscaping by Displacement Architectural Design, and consulting by Taizhou Aoyang Building Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. Planning and operational positioning were handled by Ningbo Trade Neighborhood, which also served as the client. Photographs were taken by Wongke. The project was completed in 2024 and falls under the categories of interior design and market.
