Bread and Butter exhibition explores global bathing culture at 3 Days of Design

exhibition · 2026-06-11

The Bread and Butter exhibition, named Perfect Pair in Bathing, made its return to 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen for a second time. Curated by Hee Choi and Myungnyun Kim from Ae Office alongside designer Pyeori Jung, the event showcased 16 designers who created pairs of products reflecting bathing and sauna traditions. Notable participants included Daniel Schofield, John Tree, Kasper Kyster, and Shizuka Tatsuno, among others. Each designer crafted two objects within a 40x40x40 cm cube, utilizing materials that withstand water and heat. Highlights included Tatsuno's glass vessel with local water and Lee's Raindrop Tea Set, inspired by post-bath rituals. The exhibition took place from June 10–12, 2026, at Sankt Peders Stræde 35A, Copenhagen. Choi emphasized the unique blend of intimacy and public nature in bathing.
