Brandon Sadler Returns to Atlanta's Eastside Trail with Ceiling Mural "As Above, So Below"
Brandon Sadler, known as Rising Red Lotus, has created a mural titled "As Above, So Below" on the Virginia Avenue bridge underpass along Atlanta's Eastside Trail. This artwork envelops the viewer, integrating the ceiling and walls into a cohesive scene. As described by the Atlanta BeltLine, the mural features K'un, the Lotus Garden guardian, depicted as a phoenix above and in human form below, presenting a lotus to those entering the tunnel, while koi swim beneath the Falls of Eternity. This narrative unfolds as pedestrians traverse the passage. The color scheme is inspired by ceiling art in Korean Buddhist temples, and the title reflects the connection between the spiritual and material realms. Completed in 2026, this is Sadler's third mural on the Eastside Trail, having first painted here in 2012. Images were posted on Instagram via @atlantabeltline.
