Brand Brothers Crafts Kinetic Identity for Not Yoga in Paris

Brand Brothers, a Paris-based design studio, has created a visual identity for Not Yoga, a boutique workout space at 13 rue des Tournelles in Paris. The studio avoided typical wellness clichés like lotus symbols and pastel gradients, instead building the identity on bold geometric tension, monochrome contrast, and athletic vitality. The centerpiece is a geometric logotype that interlocks the words 'not' and 'yoga' into a unified lockup, featuring bold circular counterforms, heavy stems, and abrupt vertical slices. This design distills into a rotational monogram combining the letters 'n' and 'y', suggesting perpetual movement. Technical grid diagrams with red construction lines show how circular arcs govern every curve. The identity extends across physical and digital touchpoints: a dimensional red acrylic wordmark on the stone storefront window, a powder-coated wire A-frame sign on the pavement, branded workout tights and sports bras displayed on raw limestone walls, and a corner mirror slogan reading 'it's not yoga / it's hot yoga'. Kinetic video loops animate distorted typographic waves on digital screens. The studio space itself rejects traditional wellness tropes, featuring infrared heating that warms the practice room to 33°C, no mirrors, and soft ambient lighting to focus attention on movement. The design system aims to turn physical exertion into a graphic statement.
