Bonsai treehouse exhibition opens in central London park

The Museum of Architecture presents 'Bonsai Treehouses', an outdoor exhibition in Oxford Square, London, running from 4 July to 31 August 2026. The show pairs miniature treehouses designed by architects with bonsai trees from Peter Warren's Saruyama Bonsai collection. Participants include Foster + Partners, Haptic Architects, White Arkitekter, EcoLogic Studio, McCloy + Muchemwa, and Macro Micro Architects. Each architect responded to the specific form of their assigned bonsai. Foster + Partners drew inspiration from mycorrhizal fungi networks. The exhibition also features workshops on treehouse making, gardening, and a bonsai masterclass with Warren. Museum director Melissa Woolford conceived the project, which evolved from an earlier giant treehouse idea.
