Bomma's Fragments of Light installation turns crystal shards into luminous theatre piece

Czech lighting brand Bomma unveiled Fragments of Light, an installation made from upcycled crystal shards, at Copenhagen's newly restored Hofteatret theatre during the 3 Days of Design festival. The work repurposes discarded crystal remnants from Bomma's Fragments lighting collection, designed by Studio Dechem. The shards were fused into translucent forms, cut and hand-polished into angular volumes suspended at varying heights among sheer textile curtains, casting reflections across the auditorium. The installation marks one of the first design projects to occupy Hofteatret after its five-year restoration and reopening earlier in 2026. It includes dance performances every 30 minutes and fragrances by Pigmentarium. Bomma, founded in 2012, combines traditional glassmaking with advanced manufacturing. Fragments of Light runs from 10 to 12 June.
