The VanaVasa Resort, crafted by M J Kanny Architect, has garnered the prestigious 2024 BlueScope Steel Architectural Award and the ASEAN counterpart. Nestled in the scenic hills of Janda Baik, Malaysia, the resort, which received a GreenRE Gold certification, was completed in 2023. It features ten well-appointed rooms and twenty chalet-style units spread over a sloped area of more than 32,000 square feet. Utilizing BlueScope's prefabricated steel, the chalets were constructed without concrete, minimizing environmental disruption. The design emphasizes efficient water use, natural ventilation, and rainwater harvesting, aligning with BlueScope's commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
