Blueriot: Deveron Workspace Renovation Blends Aviation and Ocean Aesthetics

The Blueriot project is a comprehensive renovation of Deveron's offices in a 1990s postmodern building. The design, inspired by the client's passions for aviation and diving, harmonizes ocean depth with sky immensity. The original interior, burdened by drywall partitions and ceilings, lacked natural light and spaciousness. The renovation revealed the building's original structure: a monumental monolithic vault and hidden volumes that now define the space. A key feature is the "whale wing"—a 16-meter-long lighting and acoustic installation made of aluminum and 3D-printed components, covered with a Barrisol membrane with a microperforated underside for improved acoustics and uniform light diffusion. Materials include aluminum, stainless steel, coral red (evoking the "Red Baron"), deep indigo, Barrisol ceilings, and exposed concrete with colored enamels. Reflective surfaces and scenographic lighting expand the space visually. Original columns covered with climbing plants bring greenery indoors. The project also uses the Barrisol Clim system—a double tensioned membrane with integrated cooling and ventilation—for thermal comfort in open-plan areas and meeting rooms. The design merges ocean and sky aesthetics with high-tech architecture, innovative technologies, and an inspiring atmosphere for daily work.
