Blanca Sánchez retrospective at Museo Reina Sofía Library

exhibition · 2026-07-09

"Leche, nieve, lágrima, mano. El saber hacer de Blanca Sánchez" is on display at the Biblioteca y Centro de Documentación del Museo Reina Sofía until October. This exhibition pays tribute to Blanca Sánchez, an influential figure of the movida madrileña, who passed away nearly twenty years ago. It showcases nearly one hundred items from her collection, including photographs, postcards, and letters, along with digitized versions of her six collage/drawing notebooks. After studying in London, Frankfurt, Paris, and Cologne, Sánchez returned to Spain in 1971. She collaborated with Galería Vandrés, Galería Vijande, and the Círculo de Bellas Artes, participated in Pedro Almodóvar's films, and curated the 1987 Andy Warhol exhibition. The project is curated by Master's students in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture.
