Blä Station's P.Y.R Chair Challenges Design Copy Culture

Swedish furniture brand Blä Station unveiled Protect Your Rights (P.Y.R), a manifesto chair designed by David Ericsson, during the Stockholm Design Festival. The minimalist pine plywood chair features a metal plate on its backrest bearing the name and a statement of intent, serving as a protest against the proliferation of copies and 'inspired' products in the design world. The brand describes P.Y.R as 'more than an object – it's a movement' and a reminder that simplicity can be powerful. The chair was officially launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, held from February 3 to 7 in Stockholm. The design intentionally withholds details to reinforce its concept of essentiality and authenticity.
