Birmingham City University architecture students reimagine urban spaces

Birmingham City University's BA Architecture programme showcased student projects addressing urban regeneration, sustainability, and community engagement. Rejaul Karim's PlayPark transforms an unused Morrisons car park in Stirchley into a makers hub with workshops and textile studios. Daria Matei's Stirchley's Urban Regeneration Hub integrates cycling culture and sustainability. Charlie Suzuki's Hedgerow Terminus proposes a zero-car Birmingham by 2050, converting roads into hedgerows. Oise Ahimie's Bearwood Alchemy recycles discarded materials into conductive wire for a distributed energy network. Other projects include Efe Tabunor's Thread and Timber, Nikitaben Patel's Feminist Library of Cultural Skills, De-Andrea Cameron's Imprinted, Rohan Paul's The Blue Pearl, Sofia Shaheen's Rise Amongst the Ruins, Vyshnavi Bharidasan's The Gods of Bearwood: Volume 2, and Sofia Shaheen's Rise Amongst the Ruins. The programme, established in 1908, emphasizes ethical, entrepreneurial design through studios like Making Other Spaces, PRAXXIS, and Ghost Stories.
