Bin Wu Unveils Mirror-Topped Pavilion of Time at Paris Design Week

architecture-design · 2026-09-18

During Paris Design Week, which took place from September 10 to 17, Chinese interior designer Bin Wu presented the Pavilion of Time at the Domaine National du Palais-Royal. The pavilion, embodying the theme Pulse in Motion, consists of three wooden segments topped with a circular mirrored roof that facilitates visitor movement. A translucent polyethylene membrane diffuses sunlight, emphasizing the flow of time. At night, a gentle illumination is provided by Moorgen's lighting system. Visitors can relax on carbon fibre chairs from Shang Xia. Wu's design contrasts the pavilion's circular shape with the classical architecture of the Palais-Royal, echoing the Chinese idea of 'a round heaven and a square earth.' He was awarded interior designer of the year at the Dezeen Awards China 2024.
