BIG wraps circular Dymak HQ in Möbius-strip roof with 880 solar panels

BIG has completed a circular, mass-timber headquarters for Danish material supplier Dymak in Odense, Denmark. The 2,800-square-metre building is sheltered by a roof evoking a Möbius strip, clad with 880 custom-shaped photovoltaic panels. Designed for low carbon, the structure uses mass timber, clay tiles, clay mortar, and eelgrass. The roof angles north for views of the forest and lake and south for shading. A central courtyard with planted terraces and stepped seating acts as a "green amphitheatre." The ground floor houses a showroom, photo studio, and fitness facilities; the upper floor has open-plan workspaces, meeting rooms, and lounges. Materials include wood, clay, cork, eelgrass, and recycled paper fibres. Brick flooring unifies indoor and outdoor spaces. The building serves as a living catalogue for Dymak's material portfolio.
