BIG completes Dymak HQ as a full-scale natural materials showcase in Odense

The Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has completed the design for Dymak's new headquarters located in Odense, Denmark. This circular structure covers 2,800 square meters and functions as both an office and a display of the company's materials. Central to the design is a planted courtyard that brings in natural light and greenery, fostering community spaces. The building incorporates sustainable materials like mass timber, clay, cork, and recycled paper fiber in its ceilings. Its roof is designed to rise towards the north for great views while sloping down south to limit solar gain, supporting around 880 custom solar panels. The exterior features a timber-and-glass grid with vertical fins for managing heat and light. The landscape design includes planted basins and open drainage for rainwater. The project has achieved DGNB Gold, Heart, and Diamond certifications. Earlier this year, KOMA Ballet showcased a performance on-site, giving the community a sneak peek before the final touches were made.
