Bettina Eicher's Intuitive Painting Practice and Upcoming Museum Presentation

Austrian artist Bettina Eicher has developed an intuitive painting practice rooted in childhood experiences of mark-making in natural settings. Growing up in Austria, she discovered artistic expression through simple gestures like drawing in soil and water, which evolved into a lifelong commitment to creative freedom without formal constraints. Her artistic journey included early linocut printing, a period focused on poetry and writing, and a return to painting influenced by motherhood and mentorship. Eicher studied with Kathrin Franckenberg, who was associated with Michèle Cassou's Point Zero Painting method, emphasizing intuitive creation over analytical planning. Her paintings function as energetic fields using acrylics, mixed media, gold accents, and textured surfaces to translate subtle forces into visible form. A significant work, 'La Barca,' was inspired by a visit to Venice and will be presented on screen at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in June 2026 as part of the Atlante dell'Arte Contemporanea 2026, organized by Start Group Italy. The painting, executed in acrylic and mixed media with orange, red, brown, white, and gold tones over hidden blue, green, and yellow layers, symbolizes navigation through life's currents. Additional exhibitions are planned for the Monaco Art Fair and events in Madrid and Rome. Eicher's professional background includes certifications as an intuitive painting facilitator, creativity coach, registered nurse, and health educator, integrating artistic practice with holistic awareness. She currently balances studio work between figurative studies, landscapes, and vibrant compositions while mentoring women through creativity.
