Bette Midler and Flora Animalia Launch Garden-Inspired Capsule

Bette Midler has collaborated with Los Angeles-based brand Flora Animalia, founded by designer Rozae Nichols, on a 10-piece collection of gardening clothes, day dresses, and table linens. The collaboration began after Midler discovered the brand through an apron she received and later visited Nichols's studio in LA. The collection includes overall-like aprons with gold floral embroidery, loose button-up shirting, flowy pants, V-neck caftans with flower motifs, and printed cotton place settings. Proceeds from Midler's portion of sales will benefit the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), the nonprofit she founded in 1995 to improve parks and green spaces in New York City. Midler, known for her environmental advocacy, emphasized the joy of gardening and the importance of accessible green spaces. The collaboration faced challenges due to ICE raids in Los Angeles, which affected Nichols's network of local artisans, leading to the closure of several workshops. Despite these setbacks, Midler praised Nichols's resilience and character. The collection reflects a garden-to-table ethos and is designed to bring joy to gardening, a practice Midler describes as life-affirming and endlessly enchanting.
