Designer Bethan Laura Wood recently discussed her evolving approach to color and material usage in an interview with designboom. After a transformative trip to Mexico, she shifted her emphasis towards vibrant colors rather than using them merely as highlights. Her fascination with laminates grew from observing everyday patterns in mundane settings, inspiring her innovative marquetry technique. For the upcoming Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation exhibition in Milan, she has crafted a distinctive color palette drawn from Tashkent lemons. Additionally, she is collaborating with Hiroyuki Murase on a Craft x Tech initiative in Japan and is preparing a pop-up for Serapian.
