Beth S. Goldberg: Art as Healing and Lifelong Learning
Beth S. Goldberg's artistic path commenced in eighth grade when she captured first place in a U.S. history art contest with her watercolor portrayal of Pocahontas. Following a high school art teacher who limited her creativity, she shifted her focus to academics, obtaining a BA in Education and a Master's in Guidance and School Counseling. Years later, an adult education course exposed her to Cubism, Surrealism, and Matisse, reigniting her passion for art. Since then, she has received numerous awards and led over forty workshops for art leagues and libraries. Additionally, she earned a Master's in Art Therapy from Hofstra University, working with veterans suffering from PTSD, psychiatric patients, those with developmental challenges, and the elderly. Goldberg utilized art to connect with her husband during his struggle with cardiovascular dementia. Her mixed-media creations feature collage, wire, mesh, acrylic, and found materials. She actively shares her vibrant and meaningful artwork on LinkedIn and her blog.
