In 1966, climbers Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison established Berghaus, a British outdoor brand in Newcastle upon Tyne. The company has launched its inaugural standalone store at Manchester's Arndale shopping centre, described as a 'gateway to the outdoors.' This location showcases the latest collections, technical equipment, dog accessories, and includes a community space featuring a 'Repairhaus' for complimentary gear repairs. Bob Neville, the global head of retail at Pentland, is spearheading a fresh strategy focused on storytelling and emotional engagement. The opening event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with co-founder Peter Lockey, Sir Chris Bonington, and adventurer Ed Jackson.
