Bergen Kunsthall Announces Autumn 2026 Program Featuring Sung Hwan Kim

In autumn 2026, Bergen Kunsthall will host an exhibition featuring Sung Hwan Kim, a Seoul-born artist from 1975 who currently resides in Honolulu. His artistic endeavors encompass video, music, storytelling, performance, drawing, sculpture, and architecture. This exhibition builds upon "Protected by Roof and Right-Hand Muscles," which stands as the most extensive survey of his work in Europe to date. Initially curated by Yolande Zola Zoli van der Heide, the survey debuted at the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, Netherlands, based on a concept by Kim. Developed in collaboration with Framer Framed in Amsterdam and ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe in Germany, Kim, who serves as both artist and exhibition designer, customizes the show for each location, demonstrating his deep engagement with spatial and narrative frameworks. While specific dates and further details remain unannounced, this exhibition reflects Kim's rising international prominence and the trend of multi-venue exhibitions tailored to their unique environments.
