Bending Spoons Files for $20B IPO After Aggressive Acquisitions
Bending Spoons, a Milan-based app development company, has kicked off its IPO plans in the U.S., targeting a valuation of $20 billion, up from $11 billion last October. The firm has acquired over 50 companies, including AOL, Filmic Pro, and Vimeo, and currently has more than 500 million monthly active users along with nine million paying subscribers. Typically, after these acquisitions, they lay off most of the staff, which happened with Filmic Pro. CEO Luca Ferrari noted in the IPO documentation that they’ve identified over 1,000 potential acquisition targets. For Q1 2026, the company reported a net income of $27.5 million on $601 million in revenue, a sharp contrast to the $112.2 million loss on $259 million from the previous year. Overall, 2025's revenue hit $1.31 billion.
