Belkis Ayón: First Argentine Exhibition at MALBA

The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) will host "Belkis Ayón: Myth and Disobedience," marking Argentina's first major showcase of the Cuban printmaker's work. Set to run from July 17 to October 12, 2026, the exhibition will display seven pieces from the Malba Costantini Collection. Ayón's art employs collography to delve into Abakuá cultural narratives, reframing the character of Sikán as a figure of defiance and marginalization. Under the guidance of curators María Amalia García, Alejandra Aguado, and Nancy Rojas, this exhibit aims to foster dialogue on themes related to diaspora, spirituality, and feminism.
