Beaux-Arts de Paris Hosts Kutluğ Ataman and Gina Pane Shows During Art Basel Paris

exhibition · 2026-10-21

Alongside Art Basel Paris, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, located at 14 Rue Bonaparte, is showcasing two complimentary exhibitions that opened on 20 October 2026. One highlights Turkish artist Kutluğ Ataman's work, Küba (2004), displayed in the chapel, which narrates the story of a self-governed neighborhood in Istanbul established in the late 1960s and later demolished in the 2000s. This installation includes 40 televisions and repurposed furniture, with English subtitles for the testimonies, and will be available until 25 October 2026. The cabinet des dessins et des estampes Jean-Bonna features Gina Pane's 1977 performance A Hot Afternoon, showcasing 19 photographs, 11 drawings, and handwritten notes from Anne Marchand, running until 18 December 2026. Admission is free, and classes persist amid student protests.
