Basel Social Club 2026 Transforms Office Building into Art Hub
The fifth edition of Basel Social Club takes over a vacant multi-story office building by Diener & Diener near Basel SBB station, with the theme "The Office" exploring labor, remote work, digitalization, and AI. Highlights include Marina Abramović's mobile sculpture and meditation chamber "THE BUS" inside a converted school bus; Brennan Wojtyla's "LAN" installation featuring ten computers running Counter-Strike: Source; "SOMA" with sound works by Raven Chacon and Jessica Ekomane on a vibrating platform; the debut of I Never Read, Art Book Fair; Beni Bischof's indoor golf satire "Hole In One Culture"; "HowAreYouToday?" offering 16-minute confidential conversations with a psychologist; Teaspoon Projects presenting Lily Bunney and Elleanna Chapman examining workplace and celebrity culture; a Social Wellness Hub by Balboa and KEEN; live watchmaking demonstrations by Maurice de Mauriac with watchmakers Massimo, Leonard, and Masha; and after-dark activations.
