Barthélémy Toguo Brings «The Nomadic Studio» to Galerie Lelong in Paris

exhibition · 2026-10-09

Cameroonian artist Barthélémy Toguo presents «The Nomadic Studio» at Galerie Lelong in Paris, an exhibition he describes as a «sensible cartography» of the contemporary world. The project turns each territory the artist crosses into a nomadic workshop, bringing together artisanal know-how, local mythologies and collective memories. Among those involved are Moroccan ceramicists, embroiderers from Bombay, Japanese artisans and students in Dakar. The show is shaped by curiosity, innovation and solidarity, and includes a tribute to migrants as well as to major African figures: Frantz Fanon, Nelson Mandela and Thomas Sankara. The presentation at Galerie Lelong follows Toguo's work between Bandjoun Station, Bombay and Yoshino, the three poles named in the exhibition's subtitle. The artist, who has an international reputation, gave an interview in connection with the project. The exhibition is on view at Galerie Lelong in Paris.
