Barnett Cohen's 'anyyywayyy whatever' Expands to Six Performers at Amant

Barnett Cohen's multimedia work, 'anyyywayyy whatever,' returned for its third showing at Amant in Brooklyn, New York, right as autumn began on the equinox. This new version featured a larger group of performers, increasing from two to six, and was specially commissioned for the venue. Previously, Cohen had showcased earlier versions of the piece in 2024 at Performissima in Paris and Kunsthall Trondheim in Norway. In this New York performance, the cast wore outfits designed by Melitta Baumeister and styled by JenniLee, which included oversized sweatshirts, sheer tops, and running shoes. The audience sat in a circle, watching the performers' slow, intentional movements, which started off in silence, only interrupted by the soft sounds of their sneakers. This performance furthers Cohen's exploration of movement and multimedia.
