festival-fair · 2026-06-25

Ombra, the electronic and experimental music festival held in Barcelona since 2018, has canceled its 2026 edition. The festival had announced it would take place from December 4 to 6 at an undisclosed 'secret' location, with a limited number of tickets already on sale. On Thursday, organizers confirmed the cancellation but stated they will work towards a return in 2027. In a statement, the festival emphasized that 'what has been built around Ombra is too valuable to disappear' and highlighted the importance of 'community' for moving forward. Organizer Sergi Ribó had previously indicated on Instagram that the festival would enter 'a period of' (the post was cut off). Ombra joins over twenty other festivals canceled this year due to financial viability issues.
