Barcelona Exhibition Explores Architect-Artisan Collaborations

Galería ÚNICO in Barcelona presents 'Arquitectura | Oficis', an exhibition running until December 30, 2026, that examines the relationship between architecture and craftsmanship. The show coincides with Barcelona's designation as UNESCO World Capital of Architecture 2026. Eight collaborations between Catalan architecture studios and artisans or specialized workshops are featured, including GCA Architecs, Mesura, RCR Arquitectes, Batlleiroig, AIA, Lagranja Design, Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, and b720. Artisans such as Cerámica a Mano Alzada, Llenas Naturcork, Icónico Factory, Metalmorfosis, Idoia Cuesta, Jan Madrenas, Sastres Paperers, Fusión Metal, Nord Taller, and Daniel Moré participated. The exhibition highlights how craft knowledge actively shapes contemporary projects, with pieces ranging from modular cork luminaires to textile pergolas and ceramic screens.
