Bank of England Revises Monthly Form BT Reporting Criteria Under Statistical Notice 2026/08
The Bank of England released Statistical Notice 2026/08, updating the requirements for firms that file Form BT on a monthly basis. Now, monthly submissions are only necessary if a firm provides certain monthly Money and Credit reports. Firms that do not fulfill these conditions will file Form BT quarterly unless informed otherwise. All banks and building societies with a deposit-taking license are mandated to submit Form BT at least quarterly, with some required to do so monthly. Firms that file Forms BE, BN, GT, or ER must submit Form BT monthly; others typically file quarterly. The Bank retains the right to request monthly submissions at its discretion. Affected firms will receive individual notifications about the changes. Updated guidance will be posted on the Bank's website, and inquiries can be sent to DSDMCG@bankofengland.co.uk.
