Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation's 'The Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026' Opens at Venice Biennale
From May 5 to August 2, 2026, the Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation will showcase 'The Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026' at Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corf in Venice, coinciding with the 61st Venice Biennale. Curated by Apinan Poshyananda, this exhibition explores the ocean as a medium for memory and cultural exchange. Notable works include Poshyananda's film 'The Spirits of Maritime Crossing II' (2025) featuring Marina Abramović and others, Martha Atienza's 'Our Islands' (2017), Abramović's 'Sea Punishing' (2006), Samboleap Tol's 'Dharma Songs' (2023), textiles by Tcheu Siong, Ruangsak Anuwatwimon's 'Excavated Gods' (2021), Swannie's 'A Body On Repeat' (2025), Ong Kian Peng's 'Disaster Free' (2024), Torlarp Larpjaroensook's 'Spiritual Spaceship' (2026), and figures by Lê Hiền Minh.
