Bandit9 and (RED) Unveil (RED)800 Motorcycle in Nine-Unit Run

architecture-design · 2026-10-22

Custom motorcycle atelier Bandit9, founded by Daryl Villanueva, has partnered with global health organization (RED) on the (RED)800, a hand-built motorcycle limited to nine units. Each sale directs a portion of proceeds to (RED)'s healthcare programs aimed at preventable diseases. Power comes from an 821cc Ducati Testastretta L-Twin engine producing 110 horsepower and 65.8 ft-lb of torque, with a claimed 0–60 mph time of roughly 3.3 seconds. The bodywork is hand-sculpted aluminum shaped as one continuous form without external panel seams, finished in a hand-painted gradient that shifts from Racing Red to raw hand-brushed aluminum, so no two builds share identical surface variation. Production is made to order with an eight-to-twelve-month lead time. (RED) was co-founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver. The project was submitted through designboom's DIY submissions feature and edited by Christina Vergopoulou.
