Banco de España Explores Textile Collection in 'El plano flexible'
From September 28, 2026, to March 28, 2027, the Banco de España will present 'El plano flexible. La colección de textiles del Banco de España,' curated by Yolanda Romero. This event will take place at Sala Banco de España, located at Calle Alcalá 48 in Madrid. The showcase includes textiles, paintings, photographs, and coins spanning the 17th to 21st centuries, mainly sourced from the bank's own collection, along with loans from various other collections. It is divided into four thematic sections: sewing, artisanal crises, textiles in spaces, and value creation. Featured artists, such as Anni Albers, Elo Vega, and Dora García, have contributed works, including a new tapestry for the Salón de Cobradores, highlighting textiles as tools of power and memory.
