Aulets Architectes' Futur Habitable Pavilion: Stone and Recycled Pallets in Mallorca
Aulets Arquitectes has unveiled a striking pavilion for the 2025 Futur Habitable project in Pollença, Mallorca. This initiative, which began in 2023, culminates a three-year exploration of design processes under the leadership of architects Sebastián Martorell Mateo and Francisco Cifuentes Utrero. The structure features sturdy stone columns, dry-stacked walls with orange and cream textures, and a roof constructed from recycled wooden pallets, all set to harmonize with the local church and surrounding trees. Recognized as a finalist for the 2026 FAD Awards, the pavilion exemplifies innovative local material usage, with photography by Jose Hevia and engineering support from Alejandro Bernabeu Ingenieros.
