Atelierzero Splits Milan Apartment into Two Units with Bold Corridor

Milanese architecture firm Atelierzero has completed the THAT Z SHOW apartment in Milan, a 2025 renovation that transforms a fragmented layout into a fluid open plan anchored by a central corridor modeled on a portico. The project splits the property into two units: a main residence and a separate guest studio, each sharing a single bold color to maintain a unified identity. The corridor, once a mere passage, now carries the architectural weight of the renovation with graphic flooring and vivid hues, framing art and concealing utility cabinets. An independent kitchen volume sits at the plan's center, organizing surrounding zones without walls. A raised boudoir-like living area offers intimate views, while the master bedroom features a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom with a calmer palette. Furnishings include a B&B Italia Granbambola sofa, CC-Tapis Bliss Big Ultimate carpet, and Flos Arco floor lamp. The satellite studio mirrors the main apartment's logic at a smaller scale, repeating the same distinctive color from the corridor to emphasize connection.
