Atelierzero's Container 03 Questions Micro Living at Genova Design Week
At Genova Design Week 2026, architecture studio Atelierzero presented Container 03, a 20-foot shipping container installation curated by Simona Finessi that critiques the micro living trend. Rather than showcasing space-saving solutions, the installation exposes the hidden costs of compact living, such as rising real estate prices, urban densification, and short-term rentals. Inside, every fixture is calibrated for efficiency, but the accumulation of daily life—groceries, clothes, objects—reveals the friction of inhabiting such a small space. The container features a perforated concrete-block wall, a green marble arch, and craft objects from Marca Corona, Isoipsa, and cc-tapis. The installation was on view at Porto Antico di Genova, Calata Mandraccio, from June 4–7, 2026.
