Founded in 2005 by Stéphane Fernandez, Atelier Stéphane Fernandez is an architecture studio based in Aix-en-Provence, France. The studio has gained international recognition for its material-driven approach, integrating structures sensitively and poetically into their landscape and urban contexts. Fernandez, born in 1974, studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Marseille (ENSA Marseille) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, where he was influenced by architects Inès Lamunière, Jacques Lucan, and Patrick Berger. Before establishing his own practice, he worked in the studios of prominent French architects Yves Lion and Marc Barani.
