Atelier cnS Transforms Foshan Warehouses into Rooftop Park with Translucent Domes

In 2025, Atelier cnS successfully transformed the Yongping Warehouse in Foshan, China, repurposing 4,311 square meters of riverfront industrial space into a vibrant public landscape. The renovation maintains the original masonry facades while incorporating new elements such as concrete, steel, and a canopy system. Distinctive, translucent domed canopies enhance the waterfront's visual appeal. The ground floor is dedicated to commercial spaces, while the rooftop serves as the primary public area. Enhanced circulation pathways link the street, interior, and roof. The rooftop features grassy inclines, seating, and play zones, utilizing reclaimed stone and timber alongside modern materials. Canopies offer shaded areas and views, and the removal of original roofs has increased ceiling heights for tenants, improving waterfront visibility and access.
