Atelier Barda Renovates 1937 Montreal Townhouse Residence Beloeil with Art Deco Details
Cécile Combelle and Antonio Di Bacco established Atelier Barda, which has revitalized Residence Beloeil, a townhouse built in 1937 located in Outremont, Montreal. This three-level residence, spanning 300 sq m, underwent renovations led by Di Bacco, successfully maintaining original elements such as glass block tiles. The ground floor boasts a custom kitchen counter made of natural stone and a boudoir that has been converted into a sunroom with glazing. Art deco influences are evident in the walnut woodwork, bespoke oak chevron flooring, tiered corner mouldings, and a sculptural stone fireplace. Notable furnishings include Foraine's 'Chabanel II' chair and items from Bruises Gallery. The design draws inspiration from German artist Marianne Brandt and French designer Paul Poiret. Atelier Barda was featured in the 2020 Architects' Directory.
