ASUL-STUDIO Launches First Furniture Collection Rooted in Storytelling

architecture-design · 2026-07-23

ASUL-STUDIO, founded in January 2026 by industrial designer Andrés Sulkin (a CENTRO graduate), has unveiled its inaugural furniture and objects collection. The five-piece line—Split, Origo, Boom, Erosia, and Erosia Ergate—draws on natural phenomena such as structural balance, wood flexion, volcanic energy, and termite traces on wood. Each piece is produced in limited editions or made-to-order in collaboration with Mexican artisans across different regions. The studio prioritizes narrative over form or function, with Sulkin stating, 'The material is the answer to the last question, rather than the starting point.' Objects include a stainless steel plaque, edition number, and certificate of authenticity. ASUL-STUDIO has already exhibited at Zona Maco and Habitat Expo, and is developing new collections to expand Mexican design internationally. The collection was featured in Glocal Design Magazine's 89th edition, 'Visionarias del espacio,' which highlights 15 women architects and interior designers, with covers by Prince Láuder and Jimena Estíbaliz.
