Assemble Transforms London Dairy Warehouses into Community Hub
Assemble has converted a pair of former United Dairies warehouses on the Becontree Estate in east London into the LifeLine Community Centre, a new headquarters for the LifeLine church and the charity Community Resources. The 625-square-meter project, completed in 2026, involved adaptive reuse of the industrial structures. The design team included structural engineer Simple Works, MEP engineer P3R Engineering, acoustician Max Fordham, quantity surveyor IKS Consulting, landscape architect Sarah Alun Jones, and other consultants such as Perrett Consulting, The PES for environmental sustainability, and Maddox Planning, Stinsensqueeze, and Socotec for additional sustainability roles. The general contractor was Bryen & Langley. Photographs were taken by Jim Stephenson. The project was curated by Nina Vuga.
