Assemble to Transform Grade II* Listed Bromley Hall into Creative and Light Industrial Workspace in London
London-based art, architecture, and design collective Assemble has secured a 25-year lease with an option to purchase Bromley Hall, a Grade II* listed early Tudor mansion considered one of London's oldest houses. The project will convert three buildings on the site—Bromley Hall (c. 1485), the former Poplar Library (c. 1904–5), and the RedBox container building—into Assemble's largest workspace to date, adding 14,000 square feet (approximately 1,300 m²) to its existing workspace portfolio. Since its founding in 2010, Assemble has built a community around crafts and manufacturing, providing creative and light industrial spaces that resist market forces and function as a platform for socially and ecologically committed work. The development plan aims to expand Assemble's offering of affordable, creative workspaces in London.
