Artists from ECA USP Release Pirate Trash Parody of Bolsonaro Film 'Dark Horse'
A collective of students and artists from ECA USP has produced a 45-minute pirated adaptation of Cyrus Nowrasteh's 2026 film Dark Horse, which explores the contentious narrative surrounding Jair Bolsonaro's 2018 presidential campaign. This rendition features a storyline involving drug traffickers and "drugged Marxists." Damares Alves is portrayed as a mystical entity, while the Bolsonaro brothers—Carlos, Eduardo, and Flávio—are represented as a single, giant-headed character. Various actors take on different roles, with appearances from the research group Depois do Fim da Arte, under the direction of Dora Longo Bahia. The film never premiered in Brazil due to concerns over financing. The screenplay is attributed to Cyrus and Mark Nowrasteh, based on a premise by Mário Frias.
