Artist Susanne Luurs Creates Wierdetuin Through Immersive Research in Groningen Landscape

Artist Susanne Luurs, who grew up in Groningen, conducted artistic research along the Damsterdiep canal for her work Wierdetuin. This project was part of the series Grond voor kunst, which examines connections between contemporary art and the Groningen region. Luurs engaged physically with the environment through kayaking, swimming, and walking to become part of the landscape, aiming to create art with significance for the area. The research was initiated by Sense of Place, focusing on the historic waterway between Delfzijl and Groningen city.
