Artist Creates Watercolor Sketches at Paris's Medici Fountain
An artist recently produced watercolor drawings at the Medici Fountain in Paris's Luxembourg Gardens. The fountain features bronze and marble sculptures by Auguste Ottin depicting the mythological figures Polyphemus, Acis, and Galatea. Originally constructed in the 1620s for Marie de' Medici's palace, the structure was relocated and restored in 1811. The artist first encountered the site during a 1988 visit to France and has returned to sketch there regularly.
