Arles photo festival explores UFO imagery in 'Nous ne sommes pas seuls'

At the Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles, historian Philippe Baudouin has curated 'Nous ne sommes pas seuls' (We Are Not Alone), an exhibition assembling a vast collection of photographs and press clippings dedicated to unidentified aerospace phenomena. The show examines how extraterrestrial imagery has been produced and circulated, drawing on archival materials that document sightings, hoaxes, and media representations. Baudouin's research spans decades of UFO-related visual culture, presenting both iconic and lesser-known images alongside newspaper articles that shaped public perception. The exhibition is part of the 2026 edition of the Rencontres d'Arles, one of Europe's most prominent photography festivals, running through the summer.
