Ark Architecture Studio's Antara Residence Reimagines Kerala Traditions

Ark Architecture Studio has completed the Antara Residence, a 1640 ft² house in Kerala, India, designed as a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Kerala architecture. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro and led by principal architects Rahul Kumar S and Malavika Mahesh, distills vernacular principles of light, ventilation, hierarchy, and transition into a modern spatial experience. Rather than replicating forms, the design transforms climatic strategies into a contemporary language. Photographs by Rahul Kumar document the 2025 completion.
